Free Eye Check-up Camp in Dibrugarh: Maeyes Foundation's Vision Care Project

Maeyes Foundation, in collaboration with Renu Eye Care Centre, successfully organized a Free Eye Check-up Camp at Nizkhaloighuguru Rupjyoti L.P. School, Dibrugarh, Assam, on 24 September 2026. Conducted under the Vision Care Project, the camp provided free eye screening services to students and local community members, promoting eye health awareness and accessible rural eye care.

Free Eye Screening Camp Highlights

64 people received free eye screening. 29 students participated in the screening. 17 spectacles were distributed. 16 spectacle order copies were issued. 11 cataract patients were identified. 8 patients were referred to hospital for further medical attention.

Improving Rural Eye Care in Dibrugarh, Assam

Access to affordable eye care remains an important healthcare need in rural communities. Many people may experience vision problems without receiving timely examinations or appropriate treatment. Through its Vision Care Project, Maeyes Foundation is working to improve access to essential eye care services in Assam. The camp brought together healthcare professionals, volunteers, students and local residents to promote better eye health.

School Eye Check-up and Student Vision Screening

Good eyesight plays an important role in children's education and development. Undetected vision problems can affect reading, learning and classroom participation. During the camp, 29 students underwent eye examinations, highlighting the importance of regular school eye check-ups.

Free Spectacles Distribution and Cataract Screening

As part of the Vision Care Project, 17 spectacles were distributed and 16 spectacle order copies were issued. The camp identified 11 cataract patients and referred eight patients to hospital for further evaluation and care.

Promoting Eye Health Awareness and Preventive Eye Care

Regular eye examinations can help identify common vision problems and certain eye conditions at an early stage. Maeyes Foundation's camp encouraged community members to prioritize eye health and seek appropriate medical attention.

The Vision Care Project was conducted by Maeyes Foundation in collaboration with Renu Eye Care Centre, Graham Bazar, Dibrugarh, Assam. The camp demonstrated how NGOs, healthcare providers and educational institutions can bring healthcare services closer to underserved communities.
